SAP BI/Datasphere Consultant Sênior (Projectlead / Application Owner) – Porto | Portugal


Requirements

Role Focus

– Strategic Process Consultant, Application Lead, and Project Lead with deep expertise in SAP Analytics solutions. Acts as the key interface between business and IT, translating business requirements into scalable solutions while driving application ownership, project delivery, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

– Partner with business stakeholders to define analytics and reporting strategies aligned with business objectives.

– Serve as Application Lead for SAP Analytics solutions, ensuring application stability, roadmap alignment, and stakeholder management.

– Lead projects and enhancements from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, deployment, and support.

– Design and optimize SAP BW/BI data models, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.

– Develop and enhance technical solutions using ABAP and AMDP for data integration and transformation requirements.

– Support and enable business users with Self-Service BI tools, including SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Analysis for Office, and SAP Datasphere.

– Translate business requirements into sustainable and scalable solution architectures in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

– Own application lifecycle activities, including incident management, change requests, testing, releases, and documentation.

– Drive continuous improvement initiatives across analytics, data architecture, and operational processes.

Years of experience

– Minimum 5 years of professional experience in SAP BW/BI, SAP BDC/Datasphere.

Functional Skills

– Deep understanding of end-to-end Sales, Market, and Finance processes and their integration with Logistics and Purchasing.

– Proven ability to act as a strategic partner between business and IT, translating business needs into sustainable and scalable solution architectures.

– Strong process consulting expertise with a focus on process optimization, digital transformation, and data-driven decision-making.

– Extensive experience in SAP Analytics platforms, including SAP BW/BI, Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and enterprise reporting solutions.

– Strong application ownership skills, including application lifecycle management, roadmap definition, governance, risk assessment, and service delivery management.

– Experience leading cross-functional and international teams, coordinating internal and external resources, and driving successful project execution.

– Proven capability to facilitate workshops, manage stakeholder expectations, align priorities, and drive decision-making across organizational levels.

– Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to guide teams, mentor colleagues, and foster collaboration between business and IT functions.

– Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, and analytics architecture within complex SAP landscapes.

Technical Skills

– Project management skills.

– SAP BW (Data Modeling, ETL, InfoProviders, ADSO).

– SAP BDC

– SAP Query Designer & Analysis for Office (Planning & Reporting.

– SAP Datasphere & SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC Planning & Reporting).

– SQL and CDS Views development.

– ABAP and AMDP scripting.

Soft Skills

– Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

– Strategic, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset.

– High degree of ownership, accountability, and initiative.

– Ability to lead teams, coordinate stakeholders, and drive decision-making.

– Proactive, structured, and results-oriented working style.

– Strong collaboration, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing capabilities.

Languages

– Fluency in English (mandatory).

Desired Certifications

– SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP BW/4HANA or BW on HANA or SAP BDC/Datasphere.

– Project management certifications

– SAP / SAC Planning certification are a plus.
